Taproot Asks Government to Let NSA Phone Program Expire

Cites privacy and security concerns

Saint Paul, MN, June 25, 2019 – In a letter to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, Taproot Security asked the federal government to let the NSA phone metadata collection program expire at end of 2019, citing specific security risks and privacy concerns.

 

In an accompanying blog post, Taproot founder Mike McCormick wrote that "the NSA phone snooping program is losing effectiveness while increasingly posing privacy and security risks. "
