Taproot Security Comments on Federal Randomness Beacon Proposal

Asks NIST to ensure security and reliability

Saint Paul, MN, May 29, 2019 – Taproot Security submitted a comment letter to the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) regarding their recently announced draft protocol for Randomness Beacons that will broadcast random bits on the Internet for use in a wide variety of applications and systems.

"Randomness Beacons are an important innovation that will benefit applications and people worldwide," said Taproot Security founder Mike McCormick. "But they also represent a new potential attack vector, so it's critical they be implemented securely."
